How To Use
How do I use this medicine?
Use Follitropin delta exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.

Follitropin delta is to be injected subcutaneously (into the fatty layer under the skin, usually in the abdomen area).
The first injection should be given under the supervision of your doctor or nurse. If you or your caregiver had been given the proper training on the preparation and injection techniques of Follitropin delta, you or your caregiver may do the succeeding administration.
Remember to rotate the injection sites. Do not inject into the same area all the time. New injection sites should be at least 1.5 inches away from the previous injection site. Do not inject near the navel (belly button).
The dose of this medicine will be decided by your doctor. Your doctor will advise you on the treatment timeframe depending on your condition and response to the medication.
What should I do if I have forgotten to use this medicine?
Ensure that you keep all appointments with your doctor so that you do not miss any doses. Your doctor also needs to regularly monitor your response to Follitropin delta.
If you miss an appointment or miss an injection, alert your doctor or nurse. A replacement appointment or injection should be given as soon as possible.
If you or your caregiver had been trained to administer this medicine and missed a dose, DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately if you forgot to administer your dose.

When should I not use this medicine?
Alert your doctor if you have the following conditions:
- tumour of the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, ovary, breast, or womb
- ovarian cyst (sacs of fluid in the ovaries) or enlarged ovary not due to polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
- vaginal bleeding with an unknown cause
- malformation of sexual organs which makes pregnancy unsuitable
- primary ovarian failure (a condition wherein a woman’s ovaries stop working normally before age 40)
as Follitropin delta may not be suitable for you.
Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
What should I take note of while using this medicine?
Inform your doctor if you have the following conditions:
- polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
- thrombophilia (a condition that increases your tendency to form blood clots)
- history of fallopian tube disease
Why is it important to keep my appointments with the doctor?
Keep your appointments with your doctor. Your doctor needs to monitor your condition and check your response to the medication regularly.
- To check the appropriateness of Follitropin delta medication, thorough evaluation and assessment (e.g. pregnancy tests, ultrasound, tests to measure estradiol levels in women, semen analysis in men, thyroid function test), before treatment initiation may be needed.
- Regular monitoring for signs of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (a serious medical problem that can happen when the ovaries are over-stimulated) may also be needed.
Side Effects
What side effects could I experience?
Follitropin delta may cause any of the following side effects: headache, tiredness, dizziness, and breast pain or tenderness.
Some side effects may need immediate medical help. Alert your doctor quickly if you experience any of the following:
- signs and symptoms of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) e.g. abdominal pain, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, weight gain, reduced urine output, severe breathing difficulty
- signs and symptoms of a blood clotting e.g. pain, swelling and tenderness in your leg accompanied by redness and warmth; sudden chest pain, shortness of breath
- severe lower abdominal pain, abnormal vaginal bleeding
Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Can I use this with other medicines?
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking or using any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
What special dietary instructions should I follow?
Avoid alcohol.

How to Store
How should I store this medicine?
Store in the refrigerator, between 2-8°C. Do not allow to freeze. If frozen, this medicine will become ineffective and should not be used.
Alternatively, store in a cool, dry place for up to 3 months. Do not return to the refrigerator.
Protect from light.
If you notice that the injection has changed colour or has become cloudy, do not use it. Throw it away and use a new injection.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
