When to use Careway Rehydration Treatment Sachets

Common conditions that cause dehydration

Illness

Gastroenteritis is an illness where fluid is lost through persistent bouts of diarrhoea and vomiting. It is caused by norovirus and rotavirus which lead to dehydration.

Sport and Exercise

When you exercise, your body heat increases making you sweat to cool down. If you are dehydrated, your sweat levels can decrease, body temperature rises and you could experience muscle cramps and dizziness.

Travel

During travel, dehydration can occur while visiting destinations with hot weather climates when your body experiences a low intake of fluids. Traveller’s diarrhoea can also occur during or after travel, leaving you feeling drained from dehydration.

What is diarrhoea and why do I get it?

Diarrhoea are common in adults, children and babies. They’re often caused by a stomach bug. They can be really uncomfortable and unpleasant, but fortunately, it isn’t usually something to worry about and, more often than not, it goes away in a few days. Some of the possible causes of diarrhoea include:

  • A food intolerance

  • A food allergy

  • Food poisoning

  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

  • A viral infection, such as norovirus.

  • A bacterial infection, such as E.coli

  • A reaction to a medication

  • A bowel or intestinal disease

  • Coeliac disease
