Otrivine Antistin Eye Drops, 10ml

What Otrivine Antistin Eye Drops is and what it is used for?

Otrivine Antistin Eye Drops contains two active ingredients. Xylometazoline hydrochloride is a decongestant and antazoline sulphate is an anti-allergic agent.
Whether you’re battling allergies all season long or just experiencing a bout of red, itchy eyes, Otrivine Antistin can help provide relief. With its two active ingredients, this eye drop helps to clear congestion and fights inflammation for fast and soothing results.

How does Otrivine Antistin Eye Drops work?

Otrivine-Antistin eye drops is a dual action combination of a long-acting vasoconstrictor, xylometazoline and an antihistamine, antazoline.

Xylometazoline is a sympathomimetic agent with marked alpha-adrenergic activity. It acts as a vasoconstrictor which reduces eye redness.

Antazoline is an H1 receptor antagonist. It has antihistaminic, anticholinergic and local anaesthetic properties. The primary mediator of inflammation in allergic conjunctivitis appears to be histamine. Antazoline reduces histamine induced responses including itching.

Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding use Otrivine Antistin Eye Drops?

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
