Ferrograd Tablets – Ferrous Sulfate 325mg Prolonged Release, 30 Tablets

Ferrograd Tablets is an iron supplement used to prevent and treat iron-deficiency anaemia. Iron is essential for your body to produce normal blood red cells, so Ferrograd can help ensure you’re staying healthy and feeling your best. The Gradumet matrix slowly releases the iron, limiting any gastric irritation that might usually come with taking an iron supplement.

What is Iron deficiency anaemia?

Iron deficiency is a very common problem, especially in women who are pregnant or have given birth recently. The lack of iron can be due to blood loss from menstruation; however it also occurs when there isn’t enough dietary intake because some foods contain only small amounts while others don’t at all! If you suspect your body needs more than what’s being offered on its own terms then speak up about this issue with a doctor so they might prescribe tablets which will help supplement our diets accordingly

Symptoms of Iron deficiency can include:

  • tiredness and lack of energy
  • shortness of breath
  • noticeable heartbeats (heart palpitations)
  • pale skin

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor before you take Ferrograd Folic if you:
• Have difficulties swallowing
If you accidentally choke on a tablet, please contact your doctor as soon as possible. This is because
there is a risk of ulcers and narrowing of the bronchus occurring if the tablet enters the airways. This may
result in persistent coughing, coughing up blood and/or feeling out of breath, even if the choking hap- pened days to months before these symptoms occurred. Therefore you need to be urgently assessed to
make sure that the tablet doesn’t damage your airways. • Before taking this tablet speak to your doctor if you suffer from bowel strictures (resulting in difficult intestinal transit) as the inert core tablet may not be suitable for you.
• Ferrograd is not recommended for children under 12 years old. Acute iron poisoning is a serious risk in
the paedriatic population. • Due to the risk of mouth ulceration and tooth discolouration, tablets should not be sucked, chewed or
kept in the mouth but swallowed whole with water. If you cannot follow this instruction or have difficulty
swallowing, please contact your doctor.
• Your stools may turn black whilst taking Ferrograd. If you have a test for the detection of blood in your
stools, tell your doctor you are taking Ferrograd as black stools may cause an incorrect result to the test.
