How does Derbac M Liquid Work?

Derbac M active ingredient Malathion lotion works by inhibiting the action of an enzyme in a parasite called cholinesterase. This Enzyme is essential for growth and survival, so malathion disrupts vital metabolic processes to ultimately lead to their death: Derbac-M Liquid kills lice as well as eggs or mites that cause scabies

What are Head Lice and nits?

Head lice and nits are very common in young children, especially those living with family members who have them. They don’t come from dirty hair; the pests are picked up through head-to-head contact!

Head lice can make your head feel:

  • itchy
  • like something is moving in your hair

Head lice are an annoying problem that can be difficult to treat. The sooner you notice them, the easier it will be for your child’s scalp and hair follicles to heal themselves without any damage being done. Make sure everyone in the house gets treated on day one so we don’t pass this nasty condition onto other family members or classmates!

What is Scabies?

It’s important to get scabies treated quickly because it can spread and cause other problems.

Scabies is an itchy skin condition caused by a tiny burrowing mite called Sarcoptes scabiei. Intense itching occurs in the area where these microscopic parasites live and breed, causing sores that can be very painful for your pet or even worse if scratched at night time when you’re asleep! These pests are contagious which means they have been known to spread quickly between family members who come into close physical contact often enough so as long as one person has an infestation then everyone will most likely get infected too- doctor’s recommend treatment of entire families before any more children become sick from this pesky pest!

Symptoms

Scabies signs and symptoms include:

  • Itching, often severe and usually worse at night
  • Thin, irregular burrow tracks made up of tiny blisters or bumps on your skin

The burrows or tracks typically appear in folds of skin. Though almost any part of the body may be involved, in adults and older children scabies is most often found:

  • Between the fingers
  • In the armpits
  • Around the waist
  • Along the insides of the wrists
  • On the inner elbows
  • On the soles of the feet
  • Around the breasts
  • Around the male genital area
  • On the buttocks
  • On the knees

In infants and young children, common sites of infestation usually include the:

  • Scalp
  • Palms of the hands
  • Soles of the feet

How To Use

How to use Derbac M Liquid

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor if you are not sure.
Should a member of your family need treatment check other members of your family for live lice with a detector comb and treat if necessary

Adults, the elderly and children aged 6 months and over:
For treatment of head lice:

• Apply sufficient liquid to dry hair to ensure that no part of the scalp is left
uncovered. Work into the hair spreading the liquid evenly from root to tip. • Leave the hair to dry naturally in a warm but well ventilated room. • After 12 hours, or the next day, if preferred, shampoo hair in the normal way. • Rinse the hair and comb whilst wet to remove dead lice and eggs (nits) using
a nit comb.
• The treatment should be repeated after 7 days.

For treatment of Crab (pubic) lice:

• Apply to the entire skin surface • Pay particular attention to all hairy areas including beards and moustaches.
Avoid any other areas above the neck.
• Leave on for at least 1 hour before washing but preferably leave on overnight.
Wash off in the usual manner.

The treatment should be repeated after 7 days

For treatment of Scabies:

• Apply to the entire skin surface • In adults it may not be necessary to apply above the neck. If used in children
under the age of 2 years, a thin film of the liquid should be applied to scalp, face and on the ears but not inside the ears, avoiding the eyes and mouth.
• Do not wash off or bathe for 24 hours. If hands or any other parts must be washed during this period, the treatment must be reapplied to those areas immediately.
• The treatment should be repeated after 7 days.
No special sterilisation of clothing is necessary, ordinary laundering or dry cleaning with hot iron pressing are sufficient.
The infestation is cleared by the treatment. However, the itching and rash may persist for up to 7 days.
An anti-irritant cream can be applied if necessary

Children under 6 months:
