Cold and Flu Nurse All in One Capsules, 16 Capsules are an all-in-one UK cold and flu medicine containing paracetamol 500mg, guaifenesin 100mg and phenylephrine hydrochloride 6.1mg per capsule. The combination is designed to relieve symptoms associated with colds, flu and sinus congestion, including headache, aches and pains, sore throat, chills, feverishness and blocked nose, while guaifenesin helps loosen stubborn mucus and relieve chesty coughs. Adults, older people and young people aged 16 years and over take 2 capsules every 4 hours as required, with a maximum of 8 capsules in 24 hours. Treatment should not continue for more than 5 days without medical advice. Available through Dock Pharmacy, a legitimate, established GPhC-registered UK pharmacy.

Benefits

Cold and Flu Nurse All in One Capsules provide convenient multi-symptom cold and flu relief in one medicine.
They help relieve headache, sore throat pain, general aches, chills and feverishness.
Phenylephrine helps reduce blocked nose and sinus congestion by reducing swelling in the nasal passages.
Guaifenesin is an expectorant that helps loosen stubborn mucus, making chesty coughs easier to clear.
Paracetamol helps relieve pain and fever, while the combination formula may reduce the need to use several separate cold and flu medicines when all three active ingredients are appropriate for your symptoms.

Adults, older people and those aged 16 years and over: Take 2 capsules every 4 hours as required.
Swallow the capsules whole with water.
Do not chew the capsules.

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Cold and Flu Nurse All in One Capsules can cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them.
Phenylephrine may cause headache, dizziness, difficulty sleeping, nervousness, irritability or restlessness. It may also increase blood pressure or cause palpitations in some people.
Guaifenesin may occasionally cause nausea, vomiting or stomach discomfort.
Other reported effects include diarrhoea, fast heartbeat or difficulty passing urine. Rarely, phenylephrine may trigger acute angle-closure glaucoma in people who are susceptible.
Allergic reactions such as skin rash, hives, swelling of the face or throat, or difficulty breathing can occur rarely.
Very rare but serious reactions associated with paracetamol include severe skin reactions, blood disorders, liver problems and severe allergic reactions.
Stop taking the medicine and seek urgent medical attention if you develop difficulty breathing, severe swelling, a serious skin reaction or other signs of a severe allergic reaction.

Cautions

Do not take Cold and Flu Nurse All in One Capsules with any other medicine containing paracetamol. Taking too much paracetamol can cause serious liver damage, even if you initially feel well.
Do not combine this medicine with other decongestants, cold and flu remedies or cough medicines unless advised by a doctor or pharmacist.
Do not use this medicine if you have:
– Severe liver impairment
– Severe kidney impairment
– High blood pressure

Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before use if you have Raynaud’s phenomenon, another circulation problem, or a persistent cough associated with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis or emphysema.
Do not combine it with a cough suppressant, because guaifenesin is intended to loosen mucus so it can be cleared by coughing.
Phenylephrine may interact with medicines including digoxin and other cardiac glycosides, some blood-pressure medicines, ergot alkaloids and other sympathomimetic medicines.
Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
If the medicine makes you dizzy, do not drive or operate machinery until you feel well again.
