Instore Pharmacy Services

Instore Pharmacy Services

As an NHS Pharmacy, we aim to provide the following types of pharmacy services. Whether you need help to with your diabetes control or struggle to manage the symptoms of asthma, we can help.

Our pharmacy services give you the chance to speak to a member of our pharmacy team about your health concerns and receive expert advice on how to improve your health.

The pharmacy services are available from 9am to 10pm 7 days a week. No need for appointment.

The MUR service is an Advanced Service within the NHS carried out by our pharmacist at Dock Pharmacy.

The MUR involves our pharmacist reviewing your use of  your prescribed medication, ensuring you understand how their medicines should be used and why they have been prescribed, identifying any problems and then, where necessary, providing feedback to the prescriber.

An MUR Feedback Form will be provided to your GP where there is an issue for them to consider. An MUR is not usually conducted more than once a year.

An MUR is a way to:

  • improve the understanding of your medicines;
  • highlight problematic side effects and propose solutions where appropriate;
  • improve adherence; and
  • reduce medicines wastage, usually by encouraging the patient only to order the medicines they require.

The New Medicine Service (NMS) is another Advanced pharmacy Service provided at Dock Pharmacy.

The service provides support for you if you have long-term conditions newly prescribed a medicine to help improve medicines adherence.

The New Medicine Service (NMS) will help to;

  • improve your adherence which will generally lead to better health outcomes;
  • increase your engagement with their condition and medicines, supporting you in making decisions about their treatment and self-management;
  • reduce medicines wastage;
  • reduce hospital admissions due to adverse events from medicines;
  • lead to increased Yellow Card reporting of adverse reactions to medicines by pharmacists and patients, thereby supporting improved pharmacovigilance;

For more information about the service, please speak to a member of the pharmacy team or call 01375 846316
