What Is CREON?
CREON (pancrelipase) is a medicine used to treat people who cannot digest food normally because their pancreas does not make enough enzymes. This is a condition called exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) and may be due to cystic fibrosis, swelling of the pancreas that lasts a long time (chronic pancreatitis), removal of some or all of the pancreas (pancreatectomy), or other conditions.
If you have EPI due to one of these conditions, CREON can help break down food into fats, proteins, and carbohydrates1 that your body can use
If you’re taking CREON, make sure you record what you’re eating, how you’re feeling, and when you take your enzymes. When you have a checkup, share this information with your doctor and discuss how your treatment plan is going.
Creon is available over the counter, Creon 10000 and Creon Micro Granules.
Creon available via your doctor’s prescription, Creon 25000iu
Over time, your doctor may adjust your dose to meet your changing needs.
